Asthma,copd, diabetes and coronary heart disease

Regular clinics are held for the above conditions by Sally Stone and Ann Williams (practice nurses)  It is recommended that patients with any of these conditions see a nurse at least once a year. 

chdBlood Pressure

If you are on treatment for blood pressure it is important that it is measured at least every nine months to achieve optimum control. If you would like to check it yourself there is a self checking machine in the entrance to the reception area.

Well person check

We recommend you have a health check at least every three years. Please book an appointment with our health care assistant who will measure your height, weight and blood pressure. The aim is to prevent heart attacks, strokes and other diseases.

Cervical Smears

Cervical smears are carried out by the nurses. All women aged 23-65 will be advised by the cervical screening centre when they are due for a test. Please contact the surgery to make an appointment.

Travel Clinic

Please complete a travel questionnaire available from reception and make an appointment  with one of the nurses as soon as you know your date of travel.

These are held by the midwife on a Wednesday and Friday mornings.

Flu Vaccinations

These are normally available from October each year. The practice nurse run special clinics for these. There are certain criteria regarding free NHS vaccines if you are unsure about your eligibility please ask a doctor or nurse.

Childhood immunisations

Clinics for these are held on a Tuesday morning by the nurses.

Smoking cessation

The practice has two trained advisers to help you stop smoking. Please ask at reception for details.

Medical services not covered by the NHS

Medical examinations for hgv/psv, insurance purposes etc are carried out by Dr Pimm by appointment. Please ask at reception about current charges
