Repeat Prescriptions

We are trying to promote a paperless service so that we can provide your prescriptions quickly and efficiently without delays.

Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescriptions can be ordered in several ways from Worle Medical Practice where our Prescription Hub is located (please note the Prescription Help Line and Desk is only open from 10:00 each day):

  • by ticking the required items on the right-hand tear-off side of the computer prescription and leaving it at reception or through the letterbox of Worle Medical Practice if the surgery is closed
  • by sending the request by post to Worle Medical Practice and collecting the prescription from Worle Medical Practice, or by sending a stamped addressed envelope with your request for posting back to you. Please remember to allow one week for postal requests.
  • by sending your request to Worle Medical Practice and then telephoning your local pharmacy to arrange for them to collect the prescription and deliver the medication, together with your repeat slip for next time.
  • Online prescriptions are available for repeat prescriptions only - please contact the surgery to apply for online services. If you already have access please click on this link Patient Access.

Please allow 72 hours (excluding weekends and bank holidays) before collecting the prescription.

Please do not telephone your request. For reasons of safety, we do not accept requests by telephone. This frees the telephone system for emergencies and appointments. Many chemists will arrange for the collection and delivery of prescriptions.

Emergency Prescriptions

Below is a link to a leaflet for patients who may run out of their prescribed medicines when their surgery is closed and need medication urgently. Community pharmacies can get patients an emergency supply quickly, even if a patient is away from home.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

Electronic Prescription Service is now live! Click here for more information https://digital.nhs.uk/services/electronic-prescription-service

Please note we need 48 hours as a minimum to process a prescription – therefore only in exceptional circumstances and only for certain medications will an urgent request be accepted.
